How can I configure my samsung tv to a timer for my cable box?

I have a 46 "Samsung HDTV and I have a Verizon FiOS box installed. I set the timer to turn on automatically at a given time, but when I try to put the channel you want to turn, just let me choose which channels 1-13 on regular television. How can I fix this??? pleaseee helpp! anyone with a answerr gets points. easyy points !!!!!!!

Since you have a set-top box, there is no channel. You watch TV on AV1, AV2, HDMI1, etc. So, it is impossible to establish a channel on the Fios box through the TV!
